Ft. Myers Reading Festival
Attended the Reading Festival in Ft. Myers yesterday. It is such a joy to hang with book people and listen to writers talk of their journeys and their books.
It reminded me to mention books that I’ve enjoyed this year: The Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu is one of the best hard science fiction novels I’ve read in a while. Ultimately very satisfying. Ken Liu, who is, in his own right, an author of some note, translated the book. The story shifts and jumps in time and we are looking at the inside of a human culture that is alien to most of us and then, yes, aliens are introduced. I would say it is not an easy read, but you will be rewarded for persistence.
